Fluid Tow Crew

April 2006 was an unbelievable month for swell on the south coast. The swell ranged from 4ft - 20ft+ (1.5m - 8m) and all month there was no surf under shoulder high, in total  there were 12 days 6ft and over. We towed in on 7 days that were triple overhead+.
A handful of the Fluid crew scored the massive waves at Hammerheads on 3 separate swells. The crew included Linton Fafie, Richard Gonzalez, Beau Hicks, Mitch Shiels, Joel Theodore, Tim Taplin, Pete Taplin, Josh Vogel, Damo, Ant Macdonald, Phil Macdonald and Trent Munroe.
The waves that broke on big Sunday were the biggest ever ridden on the South Coast, some saying ‘Some of the Biggest ridden in Australia ever’. That swell was the biggest ride able swell ive seen here in 20 years, with the wind being offshore and a swell period of 16 seconds. I hope to see another swell like that this decade.
